Quantum inspired impressionism; Pointillism.
Using a densely textured visual representation of landscape and sky, Ann Maureen Meyer’s freehand artwork advances a visual reflection on the integral dynamics, physical and aesthetic, which exist within our environmental experience.
Believing that there are still depths to explore within the neo-impressionist movement, her work re-investigates the relationship of light depiction, the artistic application of medium, and the making of marks. Her drawings and paintings are meticulously worked by hand utilizing a time-intensive and densely textured pointillism technique that portrays imagery by means of an acrylic medium based chromatic mesh. This handworked layering and weaving of marks, though static, visually mimics the energy, forces and movement within the shared microfabric of nature and our own physical experience.
These are small, concentrated, freehand artworks, in brilliant acrylic mediums, that portray the physicality, dynamics and aesthetics of our experience in environmental spaces.
